Royal Doulton Lambeth PAIR of Vases. Maud Bowden – Vine & Leaf Design. Art Nouveau Royal Doulton Maud Bowden PAIR of Green Vases Vine & Leaf Design 16 cms Royal Doulton stoneware, signed by Maud Bowden. These pieces date to the late 1800s or early 1900s and are done very much in the Art Nouveau style of the time. The vases feature a band of sinuous interwoven vines around the neck, with hanging palmate leaves at regular intervals. The body of the vase is a mottled, subdued jade green, with contrasting naturalistic brown for the vines and foliage, and pops of blue in the recesses of the woven designs. The mouth of the vases have a wide flare with a rich blue interior. They are both marked on the underside with the Royal Doulton mark, the initials MB for Maud Bowden, the number 7764 & Lambeth England. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. There are a couple of glaze marks down the side of one of the vases and one. Of them has a’rub’ mark on the bottom corner as shown in one of the photos.
