Rare Lambeth Rix Marqueterie Vase with Gold Tube Lined Decoration

Doulton Rix Patent Marqueterie Vase. Rix – Henry Doulton Piece. 7cm x 8cm oval bowl. This piece is stunning and rare as it has applied gold gilt tube lined and exquisite. The decoration is so good it may have been an exhibition piece and it has floral decoration picked out in great detail by a skilled hand. The piece has the usual marble effect and has an ovoid shape to the bowl. The top gilt edge has a couple of very minor scrapes that have been covered in gilt , but neither extends to the other side of the rim and both are top layer and a very easy fix to apply new gilt to totally cover and make invisible. Otherwise excellent with the decoration perfect. The base has a black stamp and an hand painted underlined W with the number 457. This may be the mark of art director Wilton P Rix. The pictures I hope show both the detail and the top rim, but I will be please to answer further questions.
