Antique-Doulton Lambeth-Rare -Large Asyrian War Chariot Stoneware Jug-circa 1900

Antique circa 1900 Rare Example of a large Stoneware Jug by Doulton Lambeth in the Asyrian War Chariot Pattern, the body to the jug being relief finished in white with a pictorial diorama scene featuring a war chariot with fierce Lion and various soldiers getting to up to all sorts of shenanigans as well as a terminating palm tree flush to the handle. Overall very well preserved condition save for a manufacture flaw to the handle on one side (please see last photograph) the jug is otherwise without cracks, chips, damage or repairs. A Large piece standing 24.5 cm tall with a width and breadth of 21 cm and 15 cm respectively. The pattern adorning the body was likely taken from a specimen ancient tablet of original Asyrian origin kept at the Natural History Museum in London during the period.
