Doulton Lambeth Olive Dale Blue Green & Brown Fern & Ribbed Stoneware Jug Tall stoneware tapered conical shaped jug or pitcher. Tan at the bottom with ribbing. Brown and dark blue decoration to the top with embossed fern pattern. Impressed Doulton Lambeth England on the base. This mark was used between 1891 and 1902. Also marked with a lower case D and two lines used by Doulton artist Olive Dale. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 4 1/2 inches wide x 7 3/4 inches tall. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display-ability of the piece. DESCRIPTION Antique Doulton Lambeth stoneware diamond jubilee commemorative pitcher dating to the late part of the 19th century. Dating to 1897 this typical two tone style along with applied engraving characters (appliqué) was made to celebrate the royal diamond jubilee of the reign of Queen Victoria who had ruled for 60 years. This ceramic pitcher is a stunning example of Doulton Lambeths fine work. This particular piece was made by the Doulton artist Alice Millborrow and is signed on the bottom. Marked on the body: Del Gratia Victorian Queen & Empress 1837 – 1897 She Wrought Her People Lasting Good Marked on the base: Doulton Lambeth England 7395 M (Alice Millborrow) A great example of British pottery at the height of the British Victorian empire. This antique pitcher would make a great addition to any antique kitchen, royal celebration, Victorian collectible or as a decorative item for a rustic home decor. MEASUREMENTS Doulton Lambeth wedding ceramic pitcher measures 5″ tall by 5″ wide and weighs 1lbs 3oz. A Royal Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Political Commemorative Motto Jug C. 19thC
Stoneware Political Commemorative Benjamin Disraeli Motto Jug C. A substantial antique Doulton Lambeth salt glazed commemorative Motto-type jug honouring the life of Benjamin Disraeli, Earl of Beaconsfield with a. Relief moulded centrally with profile medallion. Of the Prime Minister surrounded by a laurel wreath with Earl’s Coronet surmount. And with incised statements by Disraeli with his dates of birth and death around the top rim. The jug was made for retailer John Mortlake of Oxford Street, London with impressed marks to the base and also has a diamond registry mark for 1881. Benjamin Disraeli – Earl of Beaconfield – Born Dec 21.1804 – Died April 19. I have begun several things many times and I have often succeeded at last. I will sit down now, but the time will come when you will hear me. House of Commons 7 Dec 1837.
