Doulton Lambeth Brown Stoneware My Friend Motto Relief Molded Figural Jug C 1900
Raised ivory and brown colored motto along the top and bottom My friend is he that love me well, but who he is I cannot tell. Impressed Doulton Lambeth England mark on the base. This mark was used between 1891 and 1902. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 5 7/8 inches wide from spout to handle x 7 1/8 inches tall. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece. Antique Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Oil Lamp with Messengers Duplex No. 2 Burner
Antique Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Oil Lamp with Messengers Duplex No. One set of artists initials can be seen clearly, which are’ AR’ for Alice Russell. There is another set that look like’ HB’ and some numbers, impossible to photograph. The glass well, with ground pontil, has been cemented to the lid and obscures them. Measuring 53cms / 20 7/8. Weighing 3.66 kgs. In unpolished condition, the Doulton body is in very good condition, no chips, cracks or restoration. The black base has two parts that look like repaired chips and a 5mm strip on the base rim where it has less glaze. The double burner works well, stamped Rd No. The brass upper cage does have some damage, some broken and two parts missing. The brass chimney holder is split in one place and has been wired together. Antique Victorian / Edwardian Royal Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Large Oil Lamp
It sits on what looks like a brass base. The Blue Glazed Stoneware body looks in Perfect Condition. The glass shade & chimney are in Perfect Condition. It looks like a small chain should be hanging from the ring in the last picture. I think that pulling it would extinguish the flames. I have never seen it lit….. But I can’t see a reason why it wouldn’t. Height to the top of the chimney is 685mm. I think it would be hard to find a better example. Please feel free to ask any questions.
