A Rare Doulton Lambeth Geese in Flight Blue Ground Vase by Hannah Barlow. 1877
For sale today we have this Rare Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Vase by Senior Artist Hannah B Barlow. , set on an unusual blue ground the vase features 3 slightly different depictions of geese taking flight in amongst tall rushes and grasses. A simple geometric design to the collar finishes the vase off nicely. Stands 19 cm tall x 10.5 cm in Diameter. Bears a Doulton Lambeth “cog” stamp along with the date 1877. Incised HBB for Barlow and FC for Fanny Clark. A delightful vase presented to the market in very good condition. There are some minor nibbles to the base rim to be considered- aside from that this vase is unblemished. His piece would make a wonderful addition to any serious Doulton collection. Harry Simeon For Doulton Lambeth Stoneware XX Toby Jug (green) X8589
HARRY SIMEON FOR DOULTON LAMBETH – STONEWARE XX TOBY JUG (GREEN) – X8589. Offered for sale is this charming Harry Simeon for. Doulton Lambeth XX Toby Jug, made of salt glaze coloured stoneware. This is Style Two with a handle, and the character seated on a barrel holding the jug of ale. The character is wearing a slate blue jacket, a green waistcoat, olive green breeches with the handle cleverly formed as strands of hair. 6.75 inches tall, and is offered for sale in it original undamaged condition. MANUFACTURING DEFECTS ARE USUALLY. On this item there is a firing crack at the base of the handle and also a manufacturing defect on his right knee plus another firing crack just below the green collar at the back of his head and a tiny firing crack on the rim. I realize collectors of these items expect these defects however I try to describe all of my items as accurately as possible. The Toby Jug is fully marked on the base with the Doulton Lambeth impressed stamp and reference number X8589. DOULTON AND WATTS NELSON ANTIQUE JUG c1900
This superb jug has been expertly crafted by Royal Doulton. This is a replica of the 1840 Doulton and Watts jug, but still over 100 years old. The backstamp was only used between 1901 until 1922. Potentially this jug is over 100 YEARS OLD. The process of making this jug was obviously a hand-made trade and this includes many clay folds which can be mistaken for cracks and chips. In saying that, some of these imperfections could be cracks. The jug stands 19.5 cm (7 3/4) in height. Please look elsewhere and you will see this is a great price for such an old jug.
