An Incredibly Rare Doulton Lambeth Japanese Phoenix Aesthetic Movement Vase
For sale today we have this incredibly rare and quite possibly unique Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Vase. The baluster form vase is exceptionally well decorated in the Aesthetic Style to it’s entirety with Phoenix Birds in flight (Ho-o is the Japanese version) interspersed with geometric shapes and branches. The collar is further decorated with trailing Prunus. The overall decoration is high gloss (almost enamelled) and further highlighted with applied gilt, while the Silicon Ware ground is matted deep green and red. Stands 11 ” tall x 4 1/2 ” in Diameter. Bears a Doulton Lambeth Silicon stamp along with a Faience Dept stamp. Painted marks as shown, to include an X in an O that may indicate that the vase was made for exhibition. An insanely rare vase presented to the market in perfect condition being free from any damage or repair- guaranteed. This piece would make a wonderful addition to any serious Doulton collection. An Excellent Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau Vase by Eliza Simmance. Circa 1900
For sale today we have this absolutely stunning Art Nouveau vase by Eliza Simmance for Doulton Lambeth. Featuring an extremely dramatic design of massive cascading flowers atop stylised whiplash foliage within Persian inspired borders, all set against a textured fawn ground. The neck has a further Persian inspired border with mottled glazing to the interior. 29 cm tall x 13 cm dia. Stamped Doulton Lambeth mark along with incised ES 701 for Eliza Simmance. A Monumental Doulton Lambeth Vase Decorated with Horses by Hannah Barlow. 16
For sale today we have this Large and Impressive Royal Doulton Lambeth for the Art Union of London vase by senior artist Hannah B Barlow. Of tall baluster form and with a stunningly realised central sgrafitto panel that depicts a number of horses in various poses set in a tree lined meadow setting. The borders are fairly simple swirls against a mottled blue ground meaning all of the focus is on Ms Barlow’s fine handiwork! An impressive display size at 16 tall. Marked to the base with a Royal Doulton Lion mark along with assistant mark for Joan Honey. The base of the vase looks like it has been rubbed before being fired as the Art Union of London mark is smudged and hardly discernible and Hannah’s monogram is not visible. The vase will be supplied with a letter from Alexander Clement, curator of the Royal Doulton museum confirming all provenance of the vase, artist, date of manufacture etc. In superb condition being free from any chips, cracks or repairs, guaranteed.
