Large Doulton Lambeth Vase Frank Butler Art Nouveau Design Circa 1883
Gorgeous Doulton Lambeth vase by the renowned designer Frank A Butler. Four beautiful matching panels scratched and applied decoration in light blue dark blue and browns , in a typical art nouveau design. Marked as photo with the Doulton Lambeth stamp , Frank A Butler mark , the scratched letters MA forr the assistant Mary Aitken , the date 1883 and the number 625. A fantastic looking antique vase. Size :- It measure 28.5 cm / 11 1/4 inches in height and 16 cm / 6 1/4 inches across the widest point. Condition :- In great condition but does have some kiln firing debris on the top opening as photo. Please study photos to help gauge condition. A scarce Doulton Lambeth Impasto Ware vase decorated with leaves in autumnal colours. Impressed Doulton Lambeth Impasto mark to the base and dated – 1885. There is an incised artist mark for rosa Keen who was a leading exponent of the Impasto technique. Rare & Stunning Doulton Lambeth Impasto Ware Vase – Autumnal Leaves – Rosa Keen – c. A lovely and rare Doulton Lambeth Impasto Ware vase beautifully decorated with autumnal leaves in light relief with the decoration being typically thickly applied. To the base of the vase is the impressed Doulton Lambeth Impasto mark as well as the impressed date – 1885 – there is also an incised artist mark for the artist Rosa Keen who was one of the chief exponents of the Impasto technique. A really fine vase that would enhance any quality collection. In good antique condition without chips, cracks, or restoration. A good example of these rare Lambeth Wares. A Rare Doulton Lambeth Geese in Flight Blue Ground Vase by Hannah Barlow. 1877
For sale today we have this Rare Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Vase by Senior Artist Hannah B Barlow. , set on an unusual blue ground the vase features 3 slightly different depictions of geese taking flight in amongst tall rushes and grasses. A simple geometric design to the collar finishes the vase off nicely. Stands 19 cm tall x 10.5 cm in Diameter. Bears a Doulton Lambeth “cog” stamp along with the date 1877. Incised HBB for Barlow and FC for Fanny Clark. A delightful vase presented to the market in very good condition. There are some minor nibbles to the base rim to be considered- aside from that this vase is unblemished. His piece would make a wonderful addition to any serious Doulton collection. Fine early Doulton Lambeth stonware jug by Emily J Edwards dated 1874, depicted in ovoid form decorated with stylised hand scraffito foliate images in shades of blue with applied relief button roundels and loop handle. Factory marks to the base plus Artist’s monogram and incised marks – see photographs. 8 1/4″ (21 cm) H x 4 1/2″ (11 cm) W. Very good professional restoration to the neck to report – only noticed because of slight roughness to its interior. Personal collection on request. Please contact me before the invoice is paid.
