Doulton Lambeth Art Pottery Vase Pate-Sur-Pate Eliza S. Banks c. 1879
An antique Doulton Lambeth vase with a floral design to the body in the Pate-Sur-Pate technique. Impressed Doulton Lambeth rosette mark to the base and the impressed date – 1879. Incised artist mark for Eliza S. Banks and other assistants. Stunning Doulton Lambeth Vase – Chrysanthemums In Relief – Pate-Sur-Pate – Eliza S. A fine antique Doulton Lambeth Art Pottery vase decorated to the main body with flowers and foliage in slight relief – probably Chrysanthemums – using the Pate-Sur-Pate technique. This is a quite superb example and the decoration is exquisitely executed by the artist who was renowned for this technique. To the base is the impressed Doulton Lambeth rosette mark and the impressed date – 1879, also present is the incised mark for senior artist Eliza S. Banks, as well as assistant artists – Lilian Curtis, Emily A. London, and Edith Herapath. A superb piece for the discerning collector. 24.5cm high, maximum diameter 13cm, 8cm at the base. In good antique condition – there is a small area of restoration to the underside of the foot. All items will be well packed and securely boxed. VERY RARE DOULTON LAMBETH BIRD FEEDER / WATERER. IN THE FORM OF A GOURD. THIS IS A SUPERB VERY RARE DOULTON BIRD FEEDER (OR WATER RESERVOIR) PRODUCED AT, I THINK, THE DOULTON LAMBETH FACTORY IN, I WOULD GUESS, THE FIRST DECADE OF THE 20th. IN A RIBBED GOURD FORM WITH CURLED OVER STALK IT IS DEPICTED IN A RUST RED GLAZE OVER A YELLOW / CREAM WHICH IS EXPOSED ON RAISED AREAS, WHILE BELOW IS A TROUGH FOR FEEDING OR DRINKING. THE BASE IS STAMPED WITH THE DOULTON LAMBETH? MARK, A REGISTRATION MARK, AND VARIOUS OTHER MARKS – FOR ALL SEE PHOTOGRAPHS. IT MEASURES 4 1/4″ (10.5cm) H TO THE STALK x 3 3/4″ (6.5cm) W ACROSS THE BASE APPROX; AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO DEFECT AT ALL TO REPORT. Superb Doulton Lambeth Pate-Sur-Pate Vase Edith Lupton c. 1878
A fine Doulton Lambeth vase encircled with floral decoration using the pate-our-pate technique. To the base is the Doulton Lambeth impressed rosette mark as well as the impressed date – 1878 – there is also an incised mark for the artist Edith Lupton and unusually the vase is also signed by her to the main body. Lovely Doulton Lambeth Vase – Pate-Sur-Pate Decoration – Edith Lupton – c. A superb Doulton Lambeth stoneware vase encircled with floral decoration applied with the pate-sur pate technique. This technique has also been used to decorate the neck of the vase. To the base is the Doulton Lambeth impressed rosette mark along with the impressed date – 1878. Also present is the incised mark for senior artist Edith Lupton – interestingly the vase is also signed to the main body just below the shoulder area and this is shown in picture two. 24cm high, maximum width 12cm – 5.5cm at the base. In good condition with a tiny loss to the glaze at the edge of the footrim – there are some areas to the underside of the rim where the glaze has not taken during manufacture. The pate-sur-pate decoration which is delivered in slight relief is in excellent order. All items will be well packed and securely boxed.
