The rounded barrel shaped stoneware vase has a finely incised formal trailing leaf design picked out in tones of blue and brown on a salt glazed white brickwork design ground. The vase has a shaped thick rim finely incised with further patterning. The vase has impressed Doulton Lambeth marks to the base along with incised monogram for ELizabeth M Small and various other marks and is also dated 1880. An exceptional quality example and offered in good condition with a fine short hairline visible to the inside of the rim which does not detract.
