Pair of Signed Royal Doulton Rosetta Woods Art Deco Ceramic Jugs 1920s
Gorgeous pair of signed Royal Doulton ceramic jugs. Lustrous mottled blue/green glaze to the neck, shoulders and handles; and rare swirled gilt pattern to the body. Both pieces are inscribed on the base “RW” for the artist Rosetta Woods, and they are stamped “a” for Woods’ assistant, Louisa Ayling. These marks, and the Royal Doulton mark itself, date this piece to c. They stand 17cm (6 3/4 inches) high, diameter through the middle is 14.6cm (5 3/4 inches), base diameter is 7cm (2 3/4 inches). The glaze is in perfect condition, just as it left the pottery, with no chips or cracks. There is some very small pitting to the gilt but, from its age and appearance, that seems to have been present at the time of manufacture. This item is in the category “Pottery & Glass\Decorative Pottery & Glassware\Vases”. The seller is “east20_interiors” and is located in this country: GB. This item can be shipped worldwide.
