A Martin Brothers Oil Lamp Base by Robert Wallis Martin
For sale today we have this interesting Oil Lamp Base by Robert Wallis Martin for. The Martin Brothers Pottery. This tri footed vessel is decorated with incised foliates and flowers. In eye and wing like forms. The feet look slightly reptilian, or like feathered bird feet. I’ve listed it as an oil lamp base as the recess in the rim looks. Like it would have had a drop in font inserted at some point. Quite happy to be corrected on this! Stands 5″ tall x 5 1/4″ dia. Incised to the base with the date 1-78.
