A Rare Doulton Lambeth Hunting Dog Vase by Hannah Barlow & Frank Butler
For sale today we have this Large & Rare Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Vase by Senior Artists Hannah Barlow and Frank Butler. This 13 baluster form vase features an artistically realised sgrafitto design of a pack of 4 hunting dogs closing in on an isolated doe. The animals are glazed white to lift them from the stoneware ground. The borders by Butler are stiff leaves picked out with white beadwork, while at the collar there is a deeply incised floral display that flows continuously around the vase. Stands 13 ” tall x 4″ in Diameter. Bears a Doulton Lambeth “cog” stamp (circa 1900). Incised HBB 327 for Barlow and FAB 830 for Butler. A lovely vase presented to the market in superb display condition. A minor invisible repair to the neck rim in no way detracts from this piece. Otherwise this rare vase is in superb condition.
