A Royal Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Vase decorated by Florence C Roberts. Slender shouldered form decorated with tubelined trailing lilac coloured flowers and green leaves. Against a textured buff body. Lion, Crown and Circle mark introduced in 1902, incised FCR monogram and BN for assistant decorator Bessie Newbery, impressed 7089. Florence C Roberts joined the Doulton Lambeth decorating workshop in 1879 and regularly collaborated with Hannah Barlow being a long serving employee until 1930. I have been involved in the antiques business since 1971. My career took a leap forward when I joined Bonhams in 1976. Some five years later I became head of the Decorative Arts department.
