Antique Doulton Lambeth Slaters Dark Blue Double Handle Amphora Vase. Presented is a beautiful Doulton Lambeth Slaters double handle urn or vase, dating to circa 1880. The vase is cobalt blue and white, ornately hand decorated with gold, light blue, and white floral designs and texturing. The vase is made in a striking amphora form, with a wide, rounded body and sort of tulip shaped mouth. The vase is in great overall condition. There is a discoloration or something in the blue glaze around the upper side of the’shoulder’ of the vase, visible in the second and seventh photo. This may be original to the making of the piece, we aren’t sure. There is also a line in the glaze around the base of the vase, but this is certainly original to the making of the piece (you can see where the applied glaze decoration goes over it) and is quite hard to notice as it is beneath the wide point of the vase, where you’d have to turn it over or be on eye level with the base. There are no other issues, no chips, no breaks, and no repairs. The vase is signed with the Doulton Lambeth stamp as well as’Doulton & Slaters Patent’ and some incised initials and other marks.
