Antique Victorian “Thomas Atkins & Son, 62 Fleet St, London” Stoneware Water Filter. Lovely old Victorian 19th Century antique “PATENT MOULDED CARDON FILTER”. An early attempt to purify drinking water. Made of treacle glaze stoneware, no pottery mark but possibly by Doulton of Lambeth, London. A fabulous piece of 19th century antique kitchenalia. Although it does have some condition issues. The brass tap is missing. The main body of the filter has a hairline crack and the lid is badly damaged but not beyond a good restorer. 17.5″ tall to the finial x 8.75″ diameter. Collection is welcome from Brixworth, Northamptonshire. If the item has a obvious fault then I have mentioned it. I ask that you read the description and examine the photos carefully.
