Doulton Lambeth faience vases. J. P. Hewitt, c. 1885
A fine pair of Doulton Lambeth faience vases, painted by John P. Both vases, beautifully hand painted with semi naked girls, posing in diaphanous drapes, whilst standing, bare foot on grass. The rims, with continuous bands of floral scroll, on gilt grounds, the bases, with a continuous lappet motif. One vase signed J. Printed factory marks, painted pattern numbers, and impressed marks to the bases. 30.4 cm, 12. Minute repair to chip to one gilt rim. GUARANTEED TO BE GENUINE AND AS DESCRIBED.
