A large and impressive Doulton Lambeth vase with a heavily incised foliate design by George Hugo Tabor and dating to c. Magnificient Doulton Lambeth Vase – Heavily Incised Foliate Design – George Hugo Tabor – c. A large antique stoneware Doulton Lambeth vase decorated with a heavily incised foliate design typical of the work of this artist. To the base is the impressed Doulton Lambeth rosette mark and the impressed date of manufacture – 1881 – also present is the incised mark for the artist George Hugo Tabor, pieces by this artist are rare and this is a superb and important example of his work with a typically heavily incised design – a spectacular piece. 40cm high, 25cm at widest point, 16cm at the base, unpacked weight of 5.6kg – kindly note that due to size and weight this vase is for UK sale only. The vase is in good condition with two small reattached chips to the footrim which could be easily restored if so desired, (both clearly shown in the photographs) – we chose not to do this and this vase has been in our private collection for many years.
