Monumental Royal Doulton Lambeth Vase – Cattle and Horses c1888. Highly impressive Hannah Barlow vase depicting incised decoration of cattle and horses. Exhibition quality, this substantial vase measures 21.5 tall and is extremely heavily potted (approx 12kg). The incised decoration is complemented further by fine intricate decoration to the base and neck which makes the overall display truly stunning. The base bears the impressed stamp for the Lambeth factory, dated 1888 and artist assistant markings. Could this mark be for Eliza Simmance… The quality of the craftsmanship would certainly suggest a very competent hand? The Barlow mark can be found on the base and also within the main body decoration. The condition of the vase is excellent – free from any defects or repairs and would grace any Doulton collection.
