In The Style Of Doulton Lambeth H Barlow. This large tankard measures just over 12 inches to the rim and 13.5 to the top of the lid. It is very much of the style of Hannah Barlow. It has been assessed by an expert as being of the period and very probably from one of the potteries around at that time, circa 1880s. The incised decoration is extremely well executed. The lid is silver plate and there is an old repair to the handle. It has five sheep around the base with two shepherds looking on. On looking inside the body, it has been hand thrown.
