Very Rare Antique Novelty Doulton Lambeth And Silver Suffragette Inkwell 1909
A very rare Doulton Lambeth suffragette inkwell. Modelled by Arthur’Leslie’ Harradine. Probably made to coincide with the founding of the Woman’s National Anti-Suffrage League in the same year. The body is sterling silver and fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1909, the maker is slightly obscured but its probably Grey & Co of London. Measures 3.5 inches/9cm tall. This piece is in fine condition with no damage or restoration, clean and bright, very minor signs of age to the silver as you might expect with the passage of time. A fine Royal Doulton Lambeth stoneware jug with art nouveau design and three golfing scenes in white relief. The designs are based on models by John Broad and are’Lost Ball, Putting and The Drive’. Enriched in a mottled blue/green and brown glaze. The base of the jug is stamped “Doulton Lambeth England” with the number “166”. Base diameter 5.25 (13.3 cm), maximum diameter 6 1/8 (15.6 cm), top diameter 4 (10.2 cm), height 8 5/8 (21.9 cm) and packed weight approximately 3 kg. A really choice item. A MAGNIFICENT Hannah Barlow Doulton Lambeth huge vase signed. Dated 1879
A MAGNIFICENT Hannah Barlow Doulton Lambeth huge vase. Quite a rare subject, as I think it is a hunting scene. It took me ages to find her signature amongst the incised decorations. See photo of a small deer and it is just below that. I also think the collectors will know this type of decoration by Hannah Barlow anyway. The panel is a nicer shade of brown than my photos show, and see photos 1 and 3 for nearer the colour. It is a full 16 ins high by 9 ins across, and weighs about 5kgs alone without full packing. Fully incised to the underside with her helpers and Doulton Lambeth and dated 1879. Naturally, on such a huge piece, there are typical firing cracks to underside of base. That is NOT DAMAGE. Florence barlow doulton lambeth rare exquisite large vase excellent condition
We have for your consideration this exquisite doulton Lambeth vase by one of doulton lambeths most collectable artists Florence Elizabeth barlow, This most beautiful vase with art nouveau patterning and a depiction of a mother (old dutch capuchine pigeon) on her nest with two young chicks. This vase with blues, brown colouring with a art nouveau foliage pattern with a nest of pigeons on a cream background is in excellent condition with NO chips, cracks or restoration standing 31cm high with a flared rim. Florence barlow as become highly collectable and this vase would make a firm investment full doulton Lambeth impressed mark to base with Florence barlow initials. Florence was born in c1856 and joined doulton lambeth in 1873 where she stayed for 36 yrs till c1909, this vase is an early vase dating to around c1890s. Florence worked along side her sister Hannah barlow and sometimes worked on the same pottery. Offered in this listing is a Doulton Lambeth England Slater’s Patent Stoneware Vase, measures approx. 3 3/4 at widest point. 2 3/4 diameter base…. Fluted top is 3 3/4…. The vase features, a beautiful, textured and floral pattern in colors of blues, gold and white. Smooth lower base and top with cobalt blue and several metallic colors. Inside the neck of the vase, is a brownish red color. Impressed on the bottom: Doulton Lambeth England, Slater’s Patent, 9489F, 01.
