Rare Doulton Lambeth 1891 Large Motto Jug Take Fortune As You Find Her Devil Jug
Made By : Doulton L. Ambeth the backstamp dates it to between 1891 and 1902 and is known as the’Devil Motto’ jug. It has a brown ground and four applied medallions around the outside and also applied writing… The first and last medallions are of a young lady (fortune) and the two middle medallions are of the horned devil.. Take fortune as you find her. And if she frown don’t you. Smile will oft recall her. And make her kind and true. It measures approximately 8 inches high. It is full backstamped as per picture.
