Rare Early Doulton lambeth Stoneware Pitcher By Hannah Barlow Circa 1869-1872
This wonderful example of very early Doulton Lambeth has been beautifully decorated using the sgraffito technique. This extensive decoration was executed by the renowned senior artist Hannah Barlow. The continual band of decoration shows a stag and two deer running through the landscape with birds in flight. The neck of the pitcher is also decorated with a continual band of leaves. Striations to both base and handle. This stunning stoneware pitcher is in immaculate condition as illustrated by the listing photographs. With no repair or restoration. 13cm at widest point including handle. The pitcher will be well packed to ensure safe transportation.
