1895 Solid Silver Top Match Striker, Doulton Lambeth Silicon Base. Full English Silver Hallmarks for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd, C. Full makers marks to the body for Doulton Lambeth Silicon. The silver lid is full Hallmarked and lifts off with a silver swing handle. The body is black and rough to the touch. I do not think the top has ever been cemented into the body, the handle was used to lift the lid when a match needed striking. Condition is antique item in very good condition, no faults found to the body, the silver had minor rubbed makers mark but this is still seen and identified, the date marks are more clean and easily seen. Height with handle down 5cm (2). Diameter 6.5cm (2.1/2).
