For sale today we have this superb Doulton Lambeth lemonade beaker by George Tinworth. Well decorated with Tinworth’s signature “scrolling seaweed” design, highlighted with beadwork borders and applied rosettes of varying sizes. Glazed green against a cobalt blue ground. This example is finished off with a fully hallmarked sterling silver collar with the following inscription- H. Heath, 2nd in quarter mile hurdle race 1879. What a wonderful prize for coming second! Marked to the base as shown. The beaker is lacking a GT monogram to the body and this is not unusual with lemonade sets. Everything else is correct, from his favoured assistant for these pieces to the design and colouration. A really nice example.
