A Superb Doulton Lambeth Scrolling Seaweed Beaker with Silver Rim. 1877

For sale today we have this superb Doulton Lambeth lemonade beaker. Well decorated with a vibrant version of the “scrolling seaweed” design, highlighted with beadwork borders and applied rosettes of varying sizes. Glazed green against a cobalt blue ground. This example is finished off with a fully hallmarked sterling silver collar with the following inscription- H. Heath, 2nd in quarter mile hurdle race 1879. What a wonderful prize for coming second! Marked to the base as shown. The beaker is very much in the George Tinworth style but lacking a GT monogram to the body. Everything else though is correct for it to be him, from his favoured assistant for these pieces to the design and colouration. A really nice example.
