A Good Doulton Lambeth Tinworth Mouse Tobacco Jar. A good example of the Doulton Tinworth mouse tobacco jar. It is academically accepted that these mice were modelled by George Tinworth although he never signed the pieces to the effect. Early backstamp, circa 1880. Impressed artist marks to lid and body. Measures just over 7 inches high with the lid attached. Condition: I cannot see any damage or restoration to the mouse. The jar body is perfect and the lid has two really tiny frits to the outer edge which look, to me, to be underglaze. The lid is original to the body. Overall an excellent example.
