A fine Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau vase by Eliza Simmance, made for the’Art Union Of London’, with a delightful floral design delivered in slight relief – Doulton Lambeth impressed mark to the base as well as the incised mark for Eliza Simmance and assistant artists Nellie Garbett and Catherine Francis. A fine Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau vase made for the’Art Union Of London’ with a central band of floral decoration beautifully delivered in slight relief reserved within bands of applied beads. To the base is the Doulton Lambeth impressed rosette mark and the incised mark for Eliza Simmance as well as assistant artists Nellie Garbett and Catherine Francis. 20cm high, 12cm wide – maximum, 7.5cm at the base. In good antique condition without cracks, or restoration – there are typical grazes to some of the applied beads and a further bead was lost during firing (missing area glazed over) – the central decoration is in wonderful condition.
