HARRY SIMEON FOR DOULTON LAMBETH – THE STANDING MAN – SMILING FACE (STYLE ONE) – 8572. Offered for sale is this charming Harry Simeon for Doulton Lambeth Toby Jug called The Standing Man, Smiling Face (Style one), made of salt glaze coloured stoneware. He has a slate blue jacket, orange waistcoat, brown breeches and white buttons, with a plain handle. This is the medium size which is approx. 7 inches tall, and is offered for sale in very good condition for it’s age with no chips, cracks or restoration. However, for complete accuracy there is a tiny firing crack on the inside rim of the hat (see photos). It is fully marked on the base with the Doulton Lambeth impressed stamp and the model number 8572. I understand that it was issued from circa 1925.
