LOVELY ROYAL DOULTON (LAMBETH) ARTWARE’ NEW STYLE’ VASE by LILY PARTINGTON. This is a lovely, stoneware vase designed in the Doulton’New Style’ which dates, I would guess, to pre WWI (or just post war) and designed by Lily Partington. In an elongated ovoid form with wide neck and everted rim it is depicted with a stylised frieze of applied mandalas inside a serpentine double band over a mottled sap green body glaze and rust interior from the rim. It is back stamped with the royal Doulton impressed mark as well as Partington’s monogram, plus other impressed marks – see photographs and details. It measures 12″ (30cm) h x 5″ (12.75cm) Dia. Across the shoulder approx; and is in excellent condition with no defect at all to report, although it’s a bit grubby and needs a wash – again see photographs and details. This is a wonderful rare piece of period Doulton “New Style / Late Editions” Lambeth stoneware which is in great condition and with a low start price should get considerable interest from all Doulton collectors. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS SALE.
