Maud Bowden Royal Doulton Vase

A SUPERB ANTIQUE ROYAL DOULTON VASE. This is a rare piece of Royal Doulton stone ware. With a fluted neck above a tapered ovoid body upon a splayed foot, this vase has a superb decoration of fish beneath the water, the main body is a mottled green colour, the fish are applied to the body giving a 3D effect, some fish have incised lines by them to give the appearance of ripples on the water. The piece is clearly monogramed by Maud Bowden. The back stamp would suggest this is one of the earlier pieces. The dimensions are approximately : neck 6.5 cm foot 5cm body 12cm height 17cm. This is typical arts and crafts era design by one of Royal Doulton’s leading artists. It’s a fantastic & rare piece.
