An Impressive Doulton Lambeth Scrolling Seaweed Vase by George Tinworth
For sale today we have this stunning Art Nouveau period “Scrolling Seaweed” vase by George Tinworth for Royal Doulton Lambeth. Of broad baluster form, the vase features a very dramatic all over incised foliate design that is further enhanced by large ornate rosettes and applied beadwork borders. Deep treacle brown, cobalt blue and white. Stands 25 cm tall x 15 cm across. GT monogram to body, stamped Royal Doulton Lambeth “Lion” mark to the base along with date shield “d”, Bessie Newbury as assistant. In excellent condition, free from chips, cracks or repair. Description: A Doulton Lambeth Toby moon flask decorated in relief with a view of Toby Philpot from the front and back. Mainly all blue Whisky flask with a sterling silver collar, and a stoneware stopper. The stopper is missing the cork. Provenance: David Bearman Collection. A Super Doulton Lambeth Sterling Silver Rim Jug -Hannah Barlow, Horses & Sheep
For sale today we have this absolutely stunning Doulton Lambeth sterling silver rimmed pitcher by senior artist Hannah B Barlow. Of conical form and very well decorated with a central sgrafitto panel of grazing horses and sheep, set in a hilly moorland background. The panel is set between foliate borders, formal stiff leaves to the base and softer leaves to the collar with applied lozenges and delicate rosettes. Finished off nicely with a fully hallmarked sterling silver collar. Stands a good 24 cm tall x 12 cm dia (excluding handle). Marked to the base with a Doulton Lambeth mark along with Hannah’s HBB 71 monogram and CER 324. In super condition being free from any damage or repair- a really nice example! George Tinworth Doulton Incised Baluster Vase 40 cm/15.5 inches tall c 1890
George Tinworth 1843 – 1913. Late 19th Century Incised and Beaded vase with tube linning. 12 cm diameter top rim. This is a superb and substantial vase signed on the side with George Tinworth’s monogram. The piece also carries the stamp of Bessie Newbury assistant to Tinworth. Super beaded and incised foliage with tube lining decoration. In very good condition with just a chip on the flat base that looks production and this is located on the base flat rim and not on the side rim – see photos – it does not impact on the piece. A rare and very large and heavy piece from a sought after Doulton Lambeth designer. A Beautiful Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau Vase by Eliza Simmance & Florence Barlow
For sale today we have this Absolutely Gorgeous Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Vase by Senior Artists Florence Barlow and Eliza Simmance. Of slender baluster form, the vase features a stunning Pate-sur-Pate depiction of a garden song bird on a branch of leaves and berries by Barlow. The borders by Simmance are in an early Art Nouveau style and feature flamboyantly scrolling foliate forms that ebb and flow from top to bottom. Collaborations between these 2 always seem to work well and this vase is no exception! Fully marked to the base with a Doulton Lambeth “Cog” mark. Incised “ES” 617 for Simmance along with “FEB” 397 for Barlow, assistants as shown. Stands 10 ” tall x 3 1/4 ” dia. Inspired by a hog type beast with applied decorative foliage-like fur. MVM monogram to underbelly as well as early Doulton backstamp. Measures approx 9 inches high to the tail end. Condition: Overall excellent cosmetic condition with some expected professional restoration to the upper frills and the tail has been professionally reattached.
