A rare and delightful Doulton Lambeth art pottery inkwell titled’Baby’ and designed by Leslie Harradine at the time of the suffragette movement following the attempt by the Woman’s Social and Political Union to storm the Houses of Parliament and the burning for the Chancellor of Exchequers country home in 1908. This novelty stoneware inkwell has a hinged head forming the top and is painted in shades of blue with natural salt glazed finish to the head and limbs. The inkwell has impressed Doulton Lambeth marks to the base along with a registration number dating the inkwell to 1909. We cannot and will not declare items below the sale value. This item has been fully inspected in house.
