Pair Of Doulton Lambeth Stoneware and Brass Candlesticks circa 1890
Pair of Doulton Lambeth Candlesticks. These are beautiful candlesticks both matching and dating from the late 19th century. Brass column with stoneware holder, drip ring and decorative knop with a stoneware base. The drip and knop have globular hand applied jewels on the underside along with the top of the base. Antique Doulton Lambeth George Tinworth Tobacco Jar c1880
Doulto Lambeth Tobacco Jar. This is an antique c1880 Doulton Lambeth George Tinworth tobacco jar. It has the mouse finial to the lid and the word’Tobacco’ scrawled to one side with floral/foliage decoration to the other. It measures approximately 6.5″ in height and 4.5″ in diameter and weighs 755g. The jar is in a nice condition, with some chips to the under edge of the lid. Very Rare Antique Large Doulton Lambeth Jardiniere Cherubs Lions George Tinworth
An Extremely Rare and Very Large Doulton Lambeth Jardiniere, attributed to George Tinworth. Not marked or signed and no impressed marks, however some of his early pieces were often not marked. (Could be a prototype which did not go into production – I have never seen another example). Modelled in the highest quality, it depicts Four standing Cherubs with their heads held low supporting. The Jardiniere Bowl aloft and with wonderful Lions masks between each Cherub each. Cherub is holding a Lion head for support – Totally Charming! Around the underside of the rim are beautifully raised Pairs of Lions with Wings which. Alternate with Horses also with Wings. When turned up-side-down there are superbly moulded Acanthus Leaves, a lovely feature as. You would not normally see them from the top. Condition is good for age with minor losses in places and the square base has several chips. Around the edges as can be seen in the photographs. A BEAUTIFUL PAIR of 1887 Doulton LAMBETH STONEWARE Cabinet Vases ELIZA SIMMANCE. A BEAUTIFUL PAIR of 1887 Doulton LAMBETH STONEWARE Cabinet Vases by Renowned Artist ELIZA SIMMANCE Each are approx. 5 3/4 inches tall, approx. 1 7/8 inches wide at the rim, approx. 1 5/8 inches wide at the base, & approx. 3 inches at widest point. These Eliza Simmance vases are Gorgeous. A pair of 1887 Eliza Simmance for Doulton Lambeth stoneware vases. The pretty baluster form cabinet vases feature a naturalistic Pate Sur Pate design of plums or possibly dates and leaves on branches against a swirl textured ground with formal Victorian borders to the feet and shoulders. Eliza Simmance, as a designer, was one of the cornerstones of the change at Doultons from the High Victorian Gothic designs to simpler flowing Art Nouveau and Art Deco designs. This stoneware vase is an excellent example of her work. She started work at Doultons in 1873 and finished in 1928 a period of 55 years. She worked with the illustrious Barlow Family, Arthur, Florence, Hannah and Lucy, but by 1880 she already had a staff of artists under her turning out her designs. Fortunately for us, and unlike many of her contemporary designers, she signed many of her pieces. These beautiful Doulton Lambeth Cabinet Vases by ELIZA SIMMANCE are in excellent used antique condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs that I can see. Fine Doulton Lambeth Vase Prunus In Relief Lions Heads John Broad c. 1885
An antique stoneware Doulton Lambeth vase by John Broad decorated with enclosed panels of prunus and butterflies in relief and with lions head handles to the shoulders. To the base is the Doulton Lambeth rosette mark – also present is the incised artist mark for John Broad and assistants. Doulton Lambeth Vase – Prunus & Butterflies In Relief – Lions Head Handles – John Broad – c. A superb Doulton Lambeth stoneware vase by John Broad. The vase has decorative panels to each side and enclosed within each, in relief, is a flowering prunus branch surrounding a butterfly in flight. To the shoulders are lions head handles that sit just below the rim of the vase. To the base is the Doulton Lambeth rosette mark as well as the incised artist mark for John Broad and other assistant artists including Alice M. The vase is in good antique condition without chips, cracks, or restoration – for complete accuracy there are some tiny grazes to the edge of some of the raised prunus petals apparent on only the closest inspection – this is the best example of a relief decorated John Broad vase that we have seen.
