A Royal Doulton stoneware commemorative character jug, circa 1905, modelled as the head and shoulders of Lord Nelson wearing a bicorn hat, a ropetwist handle to the reverse, impressed underneath’Replica of the Original Jug made by Doulton & Watts Lambeth’. Approximately 20cm tall & 19cm wide. In great condition with no chips or cracks, just normal age wear as can be expected. Fine & Rare Doulton Lambeth Fake Book Spirit Flask- Shakespeare, As You Like It
For sale today we have this Highly Collectable Doulton Lambeth Spirit Flask in the form of a book. Realistically created with a faux leather grain panel to the front, banding to the spine and separated pages highlighted in gold gilt. The book features the book title of Shakespeare’s “As you like it”. Obviously a reference to the delicious contents contained within! The only thing giving the game away is the pewter spout and lid. An Incredibly Rare Doulton Lambeth Jug with Modelled Cat and Kitten-Hannah Barlow
For sale today we have this Incredibly Rare Doulton Lambeth sterling silver rimmed pitcher by senior artist Hannah B Barlow. A nice early piece, this charming jug features a wonderful, three dimensionally modelled Cat sitting above a smaller, playful Kitten in a barnyard setting. Further decorated with a leaf border to the base, leaves around the handle terminals and sgrafitto scrolls to the collar. Finished off nicely with a fully hallmarked sterling silver collar and lid. Renowned for her sgrafitto depictions of animals, fully modelled depictions by Hannah Barlow are almost unheard of. Marking this piece out as a true rarity. Stands a good 22 cm tall x 12 cm dia (excluding handle). Marked to the base with a Doulton Lambeth oval along with Hannah’s HBB monogram. The silver is hallmarked to William & Henry Stratford of Sheffield with the date code “F” for 1873. In super condition being free from any damage or repair- a really super example! This classic piece, from the late 19th century/early 20th century, was made by Doulton Slater’s Lambeth. The baluster-shaped vase is crafted of stoneware and features a lustrous deep brown glaze with central band with grid texture made by impressing linen and other materials into the clay (when wet) and enhanced with glaze and enameling. The piece is stamped on the bottom accordingly. Vase is in good antique condition, with minor wear and patina commensurate with age. The neck has an old break that appears to have been professionally repaired and is only noticeable upon close inspection. A Rare Doulton Lambeth Geese in Flight Blue Ground Vase by Hannah Barlow. 1877
For sale today we have this Rare Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Vase by Senior Artist Hannah B Barlow. , set on an unusual blue ground the vase features 3 slightly different depictions of geese taking flight in amongst tall rushes and grasses. A simple geometric design to the collar finishes the vase off nicely. Stands 19 cm tall x 10.5 cm in Diameter. Bears a Doulton Lambeth “cog” stamp along with the date 1877. Incised HBB for Barlow and FC for Fanny Clark. A delightful vase presented to the market in very good condition. There are some minor nibbles to the base rim to be considered- aside from that this vase is unblemished. His piece would make a wonderful addition to any serious Doulton collection. A large pair of Royal Doulton Lambeth vases by Maud Bowden. A gorgeous pair of baluster shaped vases. Raised decoration of four stylized flower heads , in blue , beige and green , on swirling leafed stems. The body of the vase having a lovely mottled glaze in black , blue and grey. Both marked as photo and the scratched marks MB for Maud Bowden who was a senior assistant at Doulton Lambeth. Dating between 1902 / 1920.
