A lovely pair of Doulton Lambeth vases decorated in late Victorian style with incised and applied decoration. Doulton Lambeth impressed marks to both and the incised mark for Frank Butler to one. The vases are of bulbous form and are completely encircled with incised and applied decoration set against a green ground – we have taken photos to show all sides of the vases. To the base of both is the Doulton Lambeth impressed rosette mark along with the impressed date – 1886. To the base of one is the incised mark for Frank Butler – it is not unusual for just one of a pair to be signed by the main artist – also present are the marks for assistant artists Rosina Brown, Fanny Clark, Alice Russell, and Annie Askew. A fantastic opportunity for the most discerning collector. Both vases are in good antique condition without chips or cracks – there is some professional restoration to the rim of one vase.
