SUPERB, RARE, EARLY DOULTON LAMBETH VASE by ELIZA SIMMANCE. This is a rare, early, stoneware bottle vase designed by one to the Doulton factory’s leading artist/designers. And was decorated by’EG’ for Nellie Garbett at the Lambeth works in the latter 19th. Century (low model number). It is depicted in a bottle vase form with a fine intricate applied Prunis?? Flower head band to its circumference and decorated with a relief branch and berry motift to the body. The base is stamped with the above mentioned Doulton Lambeth mark and pattern number, as well as Simmance’s and Garbett’s hand inscribed monograms plus various other marks as well as an old paper lable – see photographs and details. It measures 7 (18cm) H. X 4 (10cm) W approx; and is in excellent condition, with no defect at all to report – see photographs and details. This is a wonderful rare early piece of period Doulton Lambeth stoneware by one of their very best designers with a superb image which is in good condition and with a realistic, yet still low start price should get considerable interest from all Doulton collectors. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS SALE.
