Doulton Lambeth Silver Mounted Biscuit Barrel – 1897 – Hutton & Sons Ltd. Doulton Lambeth Hunting Ware salt-glaze stoneware Biscuit Barrel. Barrel shape with a slight domed cover & shaped finial, light brown body with applied hunting wear decoration in cream. Incised Doulton Lambeth factory mark & product code 4227. Mounted with a Silver collar & collapsible handle, which are both hallmarked for London, date letter B for 1897 and the William Hutton & Sons Ltd maker’s mark. No chips, cracks, or crazing to the pottery. Salt-glaze may naturally produce a stippled effect on the finished colour, you may notice slight surface scratching and factory faults normal with age and use. The silver is in similar condition, with some light surface scratching, wear, spotting & dings. Please see images as they form an important part of the description. Barrel – handle down.
