A Doulton Lambeth England stoneware jug with an incised foliate deisgn by George Hugo Tabor, dated 1882. George Hugo Tabor specialised in conventionalized foliate ornament works which were boldly incised into bowls and vases. He worked at Doulton Lambeth for a relatively short period only from 1881 to 1889. Examples of his works are rare – source page 311 of the important book “The Doulton Lambeth Wares” by Richard Dennis Approx 24 centimeters (9 1/2″) tall Approx 17 cms (6 3/4″) wide (including handle) CONDITION: an extremely rare and early example of a rare and desirable artists work dating from some (nearly) 140 years ago – presents as perfect but with professional high quality restoration to handle (that only a very experienced dealer or collector will spot).
