A lovely Doulton Lambeth vase decorated using the pate-sur-pate technique and signed by the artist Florence C. Impressed Doulton Lambeth mark to the base as well as the impressed date – 1878. Lovely Doulton Lambeth Art Pottery Vase – Pate-Sur-Pate Decoration – Florence C. A delightful Doulton Lambeth vase set on a narrow rounded foot with handles to each side of the shoulders. There are stylised foliate bands encircling the main body delivered in slight relief using the pate-sur-pate technique for which the artist was well known. To the base is the Doulton Lambeth rosette mark and the impressed date – 1878 – as well as the incised mark for the artist Florence C. Roberts and this piece is an early example of her work. 11.5cm high, maximum diameter 11cm including handles – 5cm at the foot. In good antique condition without chips, cracks, or restoration – a fine and beautifully decorated piece. All items will be well packed and securely boxed.
