A fine Doulton Lambeth stoneware art pottery ewer the body and shoulders incised with a stylised and contrasting foliate design enclosed within lines of applied beads. The impressed Doulton Lambeth rosette mark is present to the base as well as the impressed date mark – 1881. There are incised marks for senior artist Frances E. Lee and assistant artist Harriett E. 32cm High, 12cm Wide – maximum, 8cm – wide at the base. In good antique condition without chips, cracks, or restoration. A Rare Doulton Lambeth Hunting Dog Vase by Hannah Barlow & Frank Butler
For sale today we have this Large & Rare Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Vase by Senior Artists Hannah Barlow and Frank Butler. This 13 baluster form vase features an artistically realised sgrafitto design of a pack of 4 hunting dogs closing in on an isolated doe. The animals are glazed white to lift them from the stoneware ground. The borders by Butler are stiff leaves picked out with white beadwork, while at the collar there is a deeply incised floral display that flows continuously around the vase. Stands 13 ” tall x 4″ in Diameter. Bears a Doulton Lambeth “cog” stamp (circa 1900). Incised HBB 327 for Barlow and FAB 830 for Butler. A lovely vase presented to the market in superb display condition. A minor invisible repair to the neck rim in no way detracts from this piece. Otherwise this rare vase is in superb condition. A superbly decorated Doulton Lambeth Stoneware ewer, date stamped for 1877 and signed by the noted Artist Frank Butler The jug stands approx 26cms (10) tall The jug presents as perfect BUT alas there is a fine hairline in the body (which is very hard to find unless you look really closely). I drew red arrows on a picture to show you. If you want to display the item as a masterful example of one of Doulton’s best artists it is fine, but there is a hairline (and we like to describe accurately and honestly). Royal Doulton Lambeth Teapot & Stand Lily Partington c. 1925
A rare teapot and stand from the Royal Doulton Lambeth factory with tube-lined and applied decoration against a blue ground. Impressed and incised marks to the teapot and stand – c. Royal Doulton Lambeth Teapot & Stand – Lily Partington – c. A scarce Royal Doulton Lambeth teapot and stand with tube-lined and applied decoration against a blue ground. To the base of both the teapot and the stand is the impressed Royal Doulton Lambeth Lion mark – there is an incised artist mark for Lily Partington to the base of the teapot – there is an incised artist mark to the base of the stand that looks to be John Broad although the factory Doulton mark would appear to indicate that this is not possible from a date perspective. Something of a rarity complete with the stand and would enhance any collection. 17cm high including stand, 19cm across at widest point. The piece is in good antique condition without, cracks, or restoration – there is a firing flaw to the lip of the spout completely underglaze and from manufacture – there is a small loss to the glaze on the underside of the cut out section (entirely invisible unless the lid is off and turned over) – some inconsequential glaze loss to the underside of the stand almost certainly from manufacture.
