Antique Doulton Lambeth stoneware Oil Flagon / Vinaigrette Elizabeth Atkins 1882
VERY RARE ANTIQUE PIECE. In very good condition 5in/13cm vinaigrette in traditional Doulton Lambeth style. The only imperfections I can see are round the spout where there are 2 small chips and a crack across the bottom and up the side which seems solid and not loose. Beautifully hand painted in blue and white on a mottled brown glaze background. This mark, adapted from a similar Lambeth mark incorporating a device of four interlocking D’s was introduced c. 1882 (not 1879 as was once thought). After 1891 the word ENGLAND was added underneath. The mark continued in use until 1902. The item “Antique Doulton Lambeth stoneware Oil Flagon / Vinaigrette Elizabeth Atkins 1882″ is in sale since Thursday, March 5, 2020.
